Skywarn - Learn how to provide severe weather information to the National Weather Service

In the field

A great Field Guide developed by Captain Frank Arnoldy.   This is designed to print out on a standard sheet of paper, then cut and laminate into cards.  Punch a hole in one corner and attach all to your CERT bag for quick reference in an emergency.

For your home/away emergency kit

From Bill G: Readymeal.com has MRE's that are really good.  They have a good price and great service.  They advertise on the Weather Channel.

From Matt P: Asource for battery-less flashlights, any fuel/alcohol lanterns, and multi-freq hand-crank and solar-powered radios can be found at http://survivalunlimited.com/

From Mike M: Meals Ready to Eat, otherwise known to the military as MRE's, are dehydrated rations and are perfect for emergency food stores.  They are not canned, rather they come in sealed packets.  You just add water.   They are available mail order or through surplus stores.  Also at www.cheaperthandirt.com.

From Bill G: Quake Kare is another source for supplies.  Plus they have good ideas and plans to survive disasters.  Prices look great.
